Responsible for implementing, operating and managing all networking, servers and enterprise services for the District. System Administrator for Citrix XenServers running virtual Windows 2008 and Ubuntu Linux servers. Network administrator for District-wide wireless network, Cisco routers and switches and Smoothwall firewall. Managed Cisco CallManager, Unity servers and VoIP phones, and Lenel security and surveillance servers. Supported helpdesk when by handling tier 3 helpdesk issues and other issues at peak times.

  • Saved the district over $60,000 and reduced helpdesk issues significantly by outfitting 6 new computer labs with thin clients and terminal servers instead of using PCs.
  • Increased WAN bandwidth between buildings from 1.5Mbps to over 100Mbps without incurring monthly service costs by installing Ruckus wireless bridges.
  • Reduced calls to helpdesk about student accounts by approximately 97% by developing a web application utilizing Flask and SQLAlchemy that synchronized the student information system with Active Directory and Google Apps, and allowing teachers to check on account status and reset student passwords when necessary.
  • Streamlined state reporting processes by centralizing data in a web-based student information system and writing PHP code to generate the reports.
